New Senior Vice President of Business Development to Build Strategic Partnerships with Data Center and Enterprise Systems Management Leaders
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., September 9, 2009--Sentilla® Corporation, provider of demand-side energy management solutions for data centers and commercial facilities, today announced it has appointed storage and data center management industry veteran Eddie White as senior vice president of business development. White's appointment signals an increased emphasis on the integration of Sentilla's award-winning energy management solution with leading software for enterprise IT and systems management providers. Alliance partner customers will benefit by having a fully integrated view of both IT and energy assets; from this view, customers will be better able to analyze information and make changes in order to increase IT and facilities equipment performance.
"Coming to Sentilla is a great opportunity," commented White. "The company's technology is fast becoming a necessity for data centers that badly need to manage their energy assets. It is exciting to be a part of such an innovative team that is leading the industry in data center energy efficiency."
The Sentilla Energy Manager for Data CentersTM, released in late January 2009 with subsequent release of version 2.1 in June 2009, was developed to measure and analyze the entire data center's energy profile and make recommendations, providing actionable intelligence for IT administrators to manage energy. By approaching energy efficiency from an IT management perspective, Sentilla's software analytics provide IT managers visibility and control to intelligently reduce energy, while decreasing operational costs and increasing IT equipment utilization.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, White brings significant expertise in strategic alliance building to the company. In his previous role at CA, a leading independent IT management software company, White led the development and growth of key strategic alliances across the storage and data center management businesses.
"Organizations now realize that data center energy plays a major role in their IT environments, and they prefer to manage energy use just as they do any other IT asset," said Bob Davis, chief executive officer, Sentilla. "With Eddie's focus on strategic relationships, Sentilla can help ensure that organizations are easily and efficiently able to incorporate energy into their IT asset management mix."
Sentilla has received industry praise for the company and its technology. Most recently, its Sentilla Energy Manager for Data CentersTM was honored with a Stevie Award for New Product of the Year in the Computer Software - New Version category by the American Business Awards. Sentilla was the recipient of the 2008 Duke's Choice Award due to its innovation using Java technology. Co-founder Dr. Joe Polastre is a winner of the 2009 Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal 40 Under 40 award and was named one of BusinessWeek's Best Young Tech Entrepreneurs for 2009. Sentilla executives and engineering staff sit on numerous technical boards and commissions and are regularly sought out by industry forums to speak on physical computing and its role in energy management.
