Sentilla Energy Manager Wins 2009 Techworld Award for Green Product of the Year

Sentilla Adds Techworld Award to List of Honors Received for Product Innovation and Green Business Best Practices

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., December 1, 2009-Sentilla® Corporation, provider of demand-side energy management solutions for data centers, has been recognized in the sixth annual 2009 Techworld Awards for product excellence, winning recognition for the Sentilla Energy ManagerTM as Green Product of the Year. This year's Techworld Awards took into account the difficult international economic climate and looked for "products that offer users real value for money." Along with being recognized for "combining technical excellence and innovation," Sentilla was honored for providing their customers an affordable solution that delivers product distinction for data center energy management.

"We are excited and honored to win Green Product of the Year in the prestigious 2009 Techworld Awards," said Bob Davis, chief executive officer of Sentilla. "This award validates Sentilla's commitment to reducing our customers' environmental impact and operating costs through intelligent energy management in the data center."

The Techworld Awards has one of the industry's most comprehensive awards criteria. Recognizing both products and users, the Techworld Awards celebrate excellence and innovation from all disciplines in the IT industry. This year, a panel of judges composed of Techworld editors and industry key opinion leaders decided on the final winners from among hundreds of entries. Judging criteria included technical excellence, innovation, providing users with value for capital expense and a way to prove business efficiencies.

"The Sentilla Energy Manager has demonstrated the ability to provide substantial energy savings in the data center," said Max Cooter, executive editor of Techworld. "At a time when many organizations are looking for ways to improve business efficiencies to reduce IT expenditure, Sentilla offers a solution that is not only cost productive but environmentally responsible."

The Techworld award is the most recent in a string of honors presented to Sentilla this year. The Sentilla Energy Manager was also named New Product of the Year at the 2009 American Business Awards and the company has been hailed as a New California 100 Innovative Business All-Star by the Golden Capital Network and Hamilton Lane. Dr. Joe Polastre, Sentilla's CTO and co-founder, has been recognized with the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal 40 under 40 Award and as one of BusinessWeek's Best Young Tech Entrepreneurs for 2009.

The Sentilla Energy Manager family of products, released earlier this year, was developed to measure and analyze the entire data center's energy profile and provide actionable intelligence for IT administrators to manage energy. By approaching energy efficiency from an IT management perspective, Sentilla's software analytics provide IT managers visibility and control to intelligently reduce energy, while decreasing operational costs and increasing IT equipment utilization.
