Sentilla Joins The U.S. Green Building Council

Company’s Energy Management Solutions Support Council’s Vision for Sustainable Building

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 24, 2009—Sentilla Corporation, provider of demand-side energy management solutions for data centers and commercial facilities, today announced its membership in the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating sustainably built environments. By joining the leading non-profit organization in the U.S. focused on advancing the concept of green building, Sentilla underscores its intentions to fully support the greening of commercial buildings through its power-saving energy management technology.

The U.S. Green Building Council is a nonprofit membership organization whose vision is a sustainably built environment within a generation. Its membership includes corporations, builders, universities, government agencies and other nonprofit organizations. Since USGBC’s founding in 1993, the Council has grown to more than 18,000 member companies and organizations, a comprehensive family of LEED® green building certification programs, an expansive educational offering, the industry’s popular Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, and a network of 78 local chapters, affiliates and organizing groups.

“Sentilla’s solutions track consumption at the equipment level to help commercial facilities cut energy usage, resulting in reduced energy costs and carbon footprints. Sentilla recently launched its new Sentilla Energy Manager™ for Data Centers to provide detailed analysis of the power profile of a data center, enabling managers and IT staff to better measure and manage power consumption, increase energy efficiency and lower operating costs to improve business performance. By joining the USGBC, Sentilla is committing to work with builders to ensure its technology meets their requirements for green buildings of all types and sizes.

“Buildings have a surprisingly profound impact on our environment, economy, health and productivity. In the United States alone, buildings account for approximately one-third of all the energy consumption and generate similar proportions of carbon emissions,” said Joe Polastre, founder and chief technology officer of Sentilla. “Together with the U.S. Green Building Council, Sentilla is working with green business leaders to establish and develop best practices, standards and guidelines for retrofitting existing buildings and developing eco-friendly new construction that adheres to energy-efficiency guidelines.”

To learn more about Sentilla and its commitment to sustainably built buildings, Dr. Joe Polastre will be speaking at this week's Green Intelligent Building Conference in Arlington, Va. The panel session, entitled Emerging Technology, will cover new technologies, case studies and future developments which offer great potential for green buildings.
